 A module compilation (plugin)?
I'm working in FD 4 RC 1 right now, and "Build Current File" is still not working, so I have to switch from one document class to another and change the build target all the time for mxml module recompilation. That's gets really annoying when you have multiple modules, like five or ten or twenty. If I want to debug - tough luck, I've got to recompile the main app, which takes a long time, and then hope that the debugger can load the modules properly - and it doesn't. I've reverted to command-line fdb for that and that's a pain, so I only do that in very rare cases and rely on mx.controls.Alert("..") messages whenever possible.
The "Build Current File" option was savvy because it allowed to build a particular module with just simply "Ctrl-F8". However, even if that works in the future, the debugging problem isn't solved.
--> I think we need some kind of module-management pane, where we can choose any/all modules we want to compile/recompile, as well as whether to recompile the main app; we then could have an option for launching the debugger w/o necessarily recompiling the project. The module manager should automatically configure the "Link Report" and "Load Externs" compiler options for the new mxml modules that are specified via the Project browser.

 Re: A module compilation (plugin)?
This is very much in our TODO but we still didn't manage to implement them - Build Current File should be working, I'll check that (AS or MXML?).

 Re: A module compilation (plugin)?
Thanks, Philippe
In mxml. I tried both to use the /** *@ */ syntax inside an <fx:script/> and the <!--@ syntax outside...

Ok here's the problem: a space char is needed before the "@" character.

 Re: A module compilation (plugin)?
Three questions:
the main page mentions "enterprise support" - i.e. custom plugins for money.
1) How much would you charge me to get this module compilation plugin done? 2) How fast can it be done? 3) Can we also make it part of the free standard FD package/installer, w/o any commercial restrictions?

I can reply to the support part as i am one of the representatives of the company.
1, 2. Please make a formal query, we can then discuss the details. 3. Yes, this is totally up to you.

I don't know why you guys basically went AWOL when I asked via email, but I'll still pay a $50 donation once solution support w/ module building is added.

 Re: A module compilation (plugin)?
Sorry, we had some internal discussions about it then and then i totally forgot it. We are bringing new features in 4.5 which allows you to manage multiple projects at the same time. Stay tuned.
