 Ludum Dare 23 "Tiny World"
Ludum Dare 23 just came to an end, and I had a successful 40 hours run making a game solo with Flash Develop as my primary environment. My entry is at: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-da ... &uid=12786If you competed in this, please post links in the thread; I'd love to see other entries that leveraged FD.

Here's mine. It's my first LD ever. Humphrey's Tiny AdventurePLAYBitbucket project It's a point-and-click adventure about a boy whose penguin runs away from home because he feels unloved. By the way, Tronster: Make sure you change 'preview' to 'rate' in your compo entry URL.

Thanks for the tip; crap, I've posted that URL eveywhere. Oh well... wasn't doing it for a great score; just wanted to make a game.

I also made my LD48 game with FlashDevelop: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/?action=rate&uid=7355It's called Dessert Planet, and it's an arcade-y item-grabbing game. Simple, but I think it's pretty fun, and not bad for how crap I am.

Toast, regarding your comment on my entry: which animations were slow? I haven't been able to test it on many different computers. Also, were you playing with the mouse? It's a point-and-click, so there's no arrow key movement and such. Dave is in a fish tank is pretty sweet, even if you didn't use FD.

Hi! here my entry. I've used FlashDevelop to program & debug (and Emacs to do repetitive tasks). This is my first game in Flash, Flixel, and FlashDevelop: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/?action=rate&uid=2971

Re: Ludum Dare 23 "Tiny World"
Philippe, thanks for tweeting this thread! The game is a lot like cellular automata; requiring so many full grown trees to progress to the next level. (You only get so many seeds to start.)
jacobalbano: Played your game; love the story! I like the rotating squarish world. Animations were slow (penguin walking/hoping in the beginning.)
Toast4001: Do you have a web version, or is this not a Flash / FD developed game?
Darien: Fun game concept. In the beginning I did try to gobble up comets *ack*.
dacap: Artfully done! The zoomed in /out and screen scrolling is executed perfectly. I tried getting out of the room; alas couldn't make it to that air vent. (Frustrated by the fan.)
d_durham... your's is next on my list this lunch time.

Re: Ludum Dare 23 "Tiny World"
Thanks! So far a bunch of people have found the beginning to be too slow. I usually dislike cutscenes anyway, but I thought this one time it would work. Time to learn from my mistake I guess.

Re: Ludum Dare 23 "Tiny World"
d_durham: Just tried it out; really interesting, unique mechanic. It took a little while to get use to the controls but was enjoyable once I mastered rotating.
