To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

And my locals window shows a big red cross.

An update on this issues,

Looks like the crash only happens when I put a break point in one of the files that is added in a source file in a class path.

The path names are getting really long which leads me to believe it might have something to do with the length of the strings in the locals window?

Another update, I think this happens when there is a variable in the local window which has a huge input.

There is an xml variable which is very big and it causes the local window to crash and preventing debugging.

You're probably right - there is probably no control of input size. It needs to be fixed.

Added a check for next FD3 release to limit the text to 65535 characters - that's a random limit but 50k was ok and 500k wasn't so I guess the internal limit is 64k.
