Post Vectors not autocompleting?
Hi,

I'm trying FlashDevelop for the first time, and everything seems to be working fine, except that the code hinting and autocomplete seems to have no knowledge of Vector.<T> objects.
Code using them compiles fine, and in fact the < character still brings up a list of classes, but:

- typing :Vec only brings up "Vector3D" as an option
- typing :Vector.<Sprite> only highlights the word Sprite
- typing "= new " after a defined Vector object just brings up the list of all classes
- typing a period after a defined Vector object brings up no autocompletion at all

(Figured I'd list it all in case it helps..)

I can't find anything about this problem on the internet, and this is a just-installed copy of 4.0.2 RTM (on Win7 64)... and the fact that it compiles correctly makes it seem like it's targeting the right version of Flash... any idea what could be causing it? (The website makes it sound like this is a feature it normally has...) I've tried this with an AIR AS3 Projector project and an AS3 Project, and it happens the same in both of them.

Thanks in advance! (I'm already wondering how I got along without FD until now..!)

Sounds like target flash version's problem of some sort. Make sure you have correct playerglobal.swc files.

With 11.1 (default FD install) everythind works just fine:

I'll try replacing the playerglobal.swc; how can I tell the location of the one that FlashDevelop is using?

You shouldn't have to change anything for vectors to work.

Did you create a FD project?
Do you edit a class or "timeline code"?
What do you have in the Type Explorer (Ctrl+J)?

I created a new FD project (I've tried this with AIR AS3 Projector and AS3 Project). I'm editing the Main.as that's automatically created.
Here's the contents of my type explorer:

One thing I just thought of: originally, I downloaded FlashDevelop 4.0.1, forgot about it for a little while, installed it, ran it, then the start screen informed me that 4.0.2 was available and so I installed that, and that's what I've been using (and been having this problem in). I'm not sure if installing over the previous version is relevant or not, but I thought I'd mention.

Try setting "Project -> Properties -> Flash Player version" to different values and see if anything changes.

The version was set to Air 3.1; setting it to Air 3.2 didn't help, nor did Flash Player 11.3.

Anyway, I finally decided to try what I guess I should have done in the first place -- I completely uninstalled FD, and reinstalled it, and now it works fine. :) I guess we'll never know what went wrong, but as long as it's that easy to fix I guess it doesn't matter anyway. ;)

Thank you for your help though!

(Interesting side note: now that I've reinstalled, it even works for my older projects, so it definitely wasn't a project configuration issue.)
